Turning 32 isn’t so bad

Well, turns out when you’re me, it doesn’t matter what age you’re turning, it is leading to bigger and better things and that is always a good thing. 2013 was another year filled with mountain peeks and valleys but somehow, the valleys didn’t seem as deep this year and the peeks, a little bit higher.

Arriving in my favorite cabin by the sea was exactly what I needed. It was a time for lots of reflection, exploring and enjoying the great outdoors. No where grounds me better than any place next to the ocean. This cottage at Point No Point Resort in Shirley, BC is one of the best spots the world over I have found to escape to and be humbled by what a small creature on earth we really are.

This trip, for the first time I explored Port Renfrew and specifically Botanical Beach, which was stunning. I am a sucker for a good tide pool but I had never encountered anything like this before. The rock on this coast line was mixed with a sedimentary rock, which over time has eroded much faster and left behind holes in the rock that could rival the surface of the moon for looking out of this world. I could have spent the entire day exploring this area and pushing further and further into the part of the park that is less travelled but eventually, you have to call a day a day.

Check out my pics from one of my favorite birthday trips yet.
